  1. Positive;

For me, positive aspect are, you
    - get to work with young minds and have a chance to make a difference in their lives. Everyday is a different day. you learn different strategies in teaching and dealing with different kinds of personality. The benefits and holidays.=)

    -Negative,
stress, because of lots of work, checking papers, school events, (for public schools) sometimes they received salary late, school materials are not enough.

    2. To be honest, I realized that in teaching profession, I have greater opportunities here and abroad! It may offer lower(some schools offer incompetent salary) compensation, but education is where my heart is.=)

What are some of your realizations about the teaching career now that you can see its difference from your former profession?

I just realized in the teaching profession you need to learn to accept the idea of working without pay. Unlike in my present profession, every hour and minute that you will extend at work can be paid. Every new task that will assign to you will have additional pay but in teaching career you should know how to accept OT TY. :)

You need to be trained and well prepared before you go on your actual work. You need to show enthusiasm to learn and discover new ideas. And in teaching career you also need to be flexible when it comes to changes.

  3. Positive aspects:
We are helping the children for brighter future. We are able to share the things that can help people to determine their personality.

    Negative aspects:
The stress of handling lot of super active children or hard-headed adolescents thinking they already know better. Also, teachers are like role models of the community and so we need to act like we are not doing any mistakes in our decisions and in life as a whole.

    2. I now realize that teaching is not just done inside the classroom. We are really taking part of the students life as they are our own children. We need to show support and care even after work hours. I realize it is really true that teachers bring their work at home since giving lectures inside the classroom is just a part of being a teacher and there are a lot of things need to be done after school hours.

positive: I get to share my knowledge and principles among children. Help community by acting as a role model for children.

negative: The stress is never ending in handling students. Teaching is time consuming as a work of a teacher does not end inside the classroom.

    2. What are some of your realizations about the teaching career now that
you can see its difference from your former profession?

I never imagined before that i will become a teacher until i tutored some students. The difference is the time management. Teachers deal great amount of time in and out of schools. Giving lessons and teaching inside the classroom is just part of being a teacher. There are activities need to be done involving the students outside school hours, meetings, seminars and other things to improve in our profession. It seems there are more stress source in this profession unlike in other professions where after office hours, we can relax and unwind already.

What are some of your realizations about the teaching career now that
you can see its difference from your former profession?
I think nursing and teaching career has only slight difference. For both career touches the lives of the people, both allow us to help other people. In contrary, teaching career fulfills the phrase “changing the lives of a person”. We have this power to change the lives of our student.

  6. 1. The teaching career allows the person (teacher) to do what is good not only to her students but as well as the society. Teachers are always instrumental in developing a good citizen and a good child of God, and as time goes by, it is very fulfilling to see previous students grow and become successful in their lives. The teaching career also offers a wide range of opportunities for learning in many other field aside from education.
However, there are a lot of risks involved in teaching such as (a) ensuring security and safety to all students in times of disasters, (b) poor compensation considering the demands of the career; (c) difficulty in addressing family/personal problems of child which affect learning, and ; (d) time management problems in terms of dealing with the demands of the job, own family responsibilities and dedicating time for professional growth.

    2. As a nurse, my profession deals with the health of the individuals and the community, and I realized that health is only one aspect that teachers teach. They teach practically everything in life and that the impact is life-long compared to the nursing profession which is more of a life-saving career.

Although the focus of nursing is more on health and the teacher’s focus is more on academics, both profession sees an individual holistically and that they help a person to maximize their full potential.

  10. Teaching is a noble profession. It endowed positive and negative aspects. As to negative aspects, teachers does both routine and clerical work. Teachers do their own copying; calling parents and guardians (150++); daily checking of attendance; recording of test scores; preparing teaching materials and lesson plans. Low paycheck, teachers have to be in the classroom at certain times and that is a non-negotiable; no control over lunch schedule; bathroom visits; have to bring in or beg from the students basic supplies like tissue; copy papers and paper towels.

Going to the positive aspects, teachers experience freedom in the performance of the job; has the final discretion on how to carry out the lesson; recognition from parents, peers and the community and get a few longer vacations (summer and Christmas) and they get personal days and sick days with pay.
